TORRES IS MMA LEGEND IN THE MAKING
Oklahoma City, OK- The bantamweight (135 lbs) sensation of the UFC’s WEC, Miguel Torres 36-1 (9 KOs, 22 SUBs), will be defending his title tonight on Versus, a TV network a lot of us have, but don’t know it. The well rounded cardio machine hasn’t lost a fight since 2003, that being his only professional loss to Ryan Ackerman 12-8-1 (3 KOs, 5 SUBs). However Torres would avenge the decision loss by submitting Ackerman in a rematch. Torres will once again be in tough tonight against Japans Takeya Mizugaki 11-2-2 (4 KOs, 1 SUB).

PACMAN-RICKY HATTON NOW 30 DAYS AWAY!
April 02, 2009, 11:33:59 PM by Stephen Donatelli
”SOMETHING SIMPLY HAS TO GIVE”
Pittsburgh, PA- Imagine the scene as it unfolds...or better yet the fighter you picked to win between World 140 lb. champ Ricky Hatton and Manny Pacquiao prevails. It seems too good to be true as this match-up matches the “best against the best.” Something has to give, right? Pacquiao is favored by the experts, but hey they have been plenty wrong in the past, especially involving Manny Pacquiao.
MEGA FIGHT EVEN BIGGER IN ENGLAND THAN US!
We are now a month away from the May 2 super clash that will air on PPV both here in the US and the UK, where the fight will do roughly double the number of US homes. PPV execs are expecting a million+ PPV buys in the UK, even though the card starts at 2 AM London time. On paper, it appears to be a fight that surely will not disappoint.

BRIAN ON BOXING: WHY IS ARUM SUPPORTING DISGRACE MARGARITO?
March 30, 2009, 01:56:42 AM by Brian Gorman
BARRISTER RETHINKING MARGARITO’S PUNISHMENT
Pittsburgh, PA- Commentators in sports hold onto their opinions to the point of absurdity, as it seems that changing one’s mind equates to an intolerable weakness. Only politicians admit they are wrong less. With that in mind, I am revisiting my suggestion just after Antonio Margarito’s and trainer Javier Capetillo’s California licensing hearing over the illegal hand wraps they unsuccessfully attempted to use January against Shane Mosley. After hearing from Mosley’s trainer Naazem Richardson in an exclusive ”Ring Talk Radio” appearance, fighters and other trainers, and upon the recent eye-opening revelation that the illegal inserts they were caught with actually contained elements that form plaster of Paris, I have to admit: I (gulp) change my mind.
STATE OF CALI V. MARGARITO AND CAPETILLO
With the lab report proving that Margarito and Capetillo used substances to harden his fists in a sport where the combatants already put themselves at risk of serious head trauma if not worse, the two engaged in unprofessional, unethical, unsportsmanlike and criminal behavior. In order to preserve the integrity of the sport, deter future similar conduct and, frankly, expel these two men who cannot be trusted in terms of health and safety (which cannot take a back seat to anything), the California State Commission should make its revocation of their licenses permanent and should refer their evidence to the District Attorney’s office, requesting criminal charges of conspiracy and attempt to assault Mosley.

WHY DOES AMATEUR BOXING SUCK?
March 29, 2009, 07:56:46 PM by Ring Talk News
STATE OF AMATEUR BOXING BAD LIKE ECONOMY
San Francisco, CA- Being vilified for something you believe is a painful ordeal. That being said, I have been involved in amateur boxing for four decades. Be it as a participant, reporter, coach/trainer or spectator, I’ve put in my time. So when I see a program that produced Olympic champions in great numbers some 20 years ago being reduced to an almost non-entity in the global picture of amateur boxing, it riles me!

CHAVEZ JR. & TIJUANA PPV RESULTS FROM SATURDAY
March 29, 2009, 07:00:19 PM by Edwin Ayala
CHAVEZ JR. DARN LUCKY FIGHT WAS IN MEXICO
Brockton, MA- Home cooking was the fare in the Tijuana, MX main event as Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. won a unanimous decision over previously unbeaten Luciano Cuello. (WBC 154 lb. regional title) Though lacking power (an ingredient you will find in most Chavez foes), Cuello (23 1-0, 9 KOs) proved to be tougher than the Chavez (39-0-1, 29 KOs) camp expected. Bleeding from the nose early, Cuello made the fight as he was aggressive from the first bell. Although several rounds were close, you could see Jr. wasn’t performing anywhere near expectations. Cut over the right optic, by the sixth it was clear that Chavez was troubled and thrown off his game by the Cuello jab.

WATCH DAMNING VIDEOS RIGHT HERE/NOW!
San Francisco, CA- When the California Athletic Commission moved in last week and imposed a temporary ban on amateur boxing in California, it was after a lengthy investigation put forth by ABC 7 television reporter Dan Noyes. Mr. Noyes’ reports have blown the lid off a smoldering scandal that has a better than 20-year lifespan. I invited the man Noyes has pointed the finger at, Sonny Marson, former Golden Glove head, to come on after Noyes but he respectively declined.

ESPN FRIDAY NIGHT FIGHT REPORT!
March 29, 2009, 01:53:42 AM by Kevin Perry
HEAVYWEIGHTS SO BAD THEY PUT CRACK HEADS TO SLEEP!
Los Angeles, CA-In a heavyweight crossroads bout featured on ESPN’s Friday Night Fights, Philly’s “Fast Eddie” Chambers did little to boost his reputation in winning a lackluster ten round majority decision over a grossly overweight Samuel Peter of Nigeria. Peter, a former WBC heavyweight champion who tipped the scales at 256 lbs., he lacked intensity, focus and desire. Chambers who appeared cautious of Peter’s power throughout the fight, controlled the pace with his jab, and occasionally would land a nice right hand.
